Hello, I’m glad you found me, us really. I am Melanie and I am a mom on a mission to dive deep to find the strength to get our family to the other side of health problem after health problem. I decided to start blogging about our journey for many reasons, mainly because it feels therapeutic, gets my mind off the stress of it all and because I hope this will help someone else.
I am married to my husband Greg of 15 years, and we have two beautiful children, Gabrielle (13) and Michael (10 in 2 weeks). Between us all we have quite an array of diagnoses and health concerns. My focus in the beginning of this blog will be our son as he is currently struggling the most. I’m not picking one over the other, but rather picking a place to start because quite frankly if I don’t have a direction soon, I may break.
For years I have tried various things to move our family to healthier in a more natural, holistic way. I don’t know about you though; I’ve really struggled with follow through. This could be my ADHD brain. I get all excited, try “it” out, love “it” for a bit, but then fall back in my old ways. I am all about trying the new that I have learned, but not great at making it stick. This habit I need to break.
This year things must be different. This year things are not ok going the way they have always been because our children are not ok. If we don’t make changes they will fall deeper into depression and God only knows what will happen. I shudder to think about it because this year we’ve come eye to eye with darkness and evil.
I hope you enjoy being a part of this from the beginning. That’s where we are, the beginning. I plan to write about the good, the bad and the ugly. Right now, we are focusing on one meal at a time. Some blogs may include recipes that we have tried and found success. Some blogs or days I may write about emotions that come for me or for our children. Some days will be about struggles, and I look forward to the days that I will write about our wins. My ultimate goals will be to watch our children blossom, for our bodies to heal and to help others along the way. Thank you for coming along. ~ Mel
